Call for Youth Actors and Actresses
The Browning Version and Harlelquinade Audition: 27 April
AFTEC's salute to Terence Rattigan--a double bill of The Browning Version and Harlelquinade to be staged at the Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre this December--demonstrates the impressive range of this renowned 20 th Century dramatist. The plays will be directed by Mr. Stephan Spurr and performed in English.

In The Browning Version, arguably his finest play, a desiccated school master (Andrew Crocker-Harris) is about to retire unloved by the boys, unvalued by the school where he has taught for 18 years; and betrayed by his wife, Millie. But a pupil's parting gift releases Crocker-Harris's pent up emotions, turning a long term defeat into a victory of the spirit.

Harlequinade is a farcical demonstration of a late 1940's dress rehearsal of "Romeo and Juliet" by a touring company. The Gosports, old enough to be the parents of the " star crossed lovers" they are playing, resort to whatever means they can give to the illusion of youth. The rehearsal progresses from one comic crisis to another, climaxing in a scene of hilarious confusion.

We are now looking for talented youth actors from 12-25 for the production. If you are passionate about the theatre, talented in acting and eager to work with and learn from professional theatre artists, come and join us at the open auditions! Interested parties please fill out the enclosed audition form and return it to AFTEC by fax (2529 5385) or email (ruby@aftec.hk) by 24 April 2013 (Wed).
