Adapted from the novel by Charles Dickens and depicting the author’s viewpoints & powerful language, this is a story about how Lucie Manette, Sydney Carton and Charles Darnay change their attitudes towards life when caught in the whirlpool of social upheaval. The story portrays how they and other characters deal with the sense of insecurity, betrayal, hope & love in a time of social turbulence.
Public Performances 1 & 8/3/2020 Sun 2:30pm Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes with pre- & post-show creative activities at the foyer
Programme Details $55 per person (Same price for teachers and students)
Eligibility: S1-S6 students and teachers from local schools
January to March 2020 Pre-show in-school workshop # • 1 to 1.5 hours • Introduction to the background and plot of the play • Introduction to the characteristics of professional theatre • Interactive games and activities led by professional theatre artists
26 February to 13 March 2020 English Theatre Performance
Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre Theatre English with bilingual surtitles
Secondary School Performances Mon to Fri 10:15am / 1:45pm / 4:30pm Approximately 1 hour 45 minutes, including post-show interactive activities
February to April 2020 Post-show in-school workshop # • 1 to 1.5 hours • Follow-on learning through games and activities • Reflective understanding of the theatre production with video and visual materials
Electronic Education Pack Three levels of content aligned to students’ English abilities (choice of 2 out of 3)
# Applicable to school enrolment of 80 tickets or more. School booking less than 80 tickets will entitle to workshops at venues to be announced.
