Join us for a two-week summer camp to create captivating stories with words and the body’s physical language. English Drama and Physical Theatre streams available. Let’s dive into the imaginary worlds and experience the magic of theatre.

Tutors

Heather Cooper

English Drama

Heather obtained a BTEC National Diploma with Distinction from Stafford College and a BA (Hons) in Performing Arts from Bath Spa University. She was the Drama Co-ordinator at Diocesan Boys’ School for eight years and built up the Drama department. During her time in the school, she produced, wrote, directed and acted in several original musicals, murder mysteries, site-specific plays, short films, etc. Heather has her own company writing original musicals for schools and she is experienced in set design, song writing and script writing.

Edwin Chuk

Physical Theatre( In Cantonese)

Edwin graduated from the Academy of Visual Arts of the Hong Kong Baptist University in 2018. Currently, he is the Young Fellow (Performance Stream) of Zuni Icosahedron. He received training from both the Western and Eastern streams, including Jacques Lecoq, Jerzy Grotowski, Chinese Tai Chi, Japanese Butoh, etc., focusing on the collective creation of devised theatre. He also completed a two-year Professional Physical Theatre Youth Training Programme by Tang Shu-wing Theatre Studio and The Circus Theatre Group’s psychophysical performance course led by Andy Ng Wai Shek. He founded Feast on Waste Land and their performance Far Far Away was presented in the Let’s Be Together Art Festival x Hong Kong and received the Adelaide Fringe Tour Ready Award co-presented by Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Terms & Conditions

  1. Quota applies, first come first served. Full payment is required upon enrolment. Participants will receive a written confirmation from AFTEC and no cancellation or refund will be allowed once the enrolment is confirmed.
  2. All personal information provided will be used for course enrolment only.
  3. Early bird discount: 15% off for enrolment on or before 15 June. Discount validity is determined by the receipt date of enrolment.
  4. If the Black Rainstorm Warning Signal, extreme conditions, and/or Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above is in force two hours before the workshop or showcase, the event will be cancelled with no rescheduling or refunds.
  5. No make-up sessions or refunds will be arranged for absences due to personal or medical reasons.
  6. AFTEC may photograph/film participants during the course for future promotion of other educational programmes. Copyrights of all images belong to AFTEC.
  7. AFTEC holds the copyrights of all teaching materials and participants are not allowed to use the teaching materials outside the course without AFTEC’s prior consent.
  8. AFTEC reserves the right to modify course schedule, venue, format, instructors, and other relevant arrangements as appropriate.
  9. Participants will receive a certificate of completion if they reach a 80% attendance.
  10. AFTEC is committed to maintaining a safe learning environment and has zero tolerance for any form of harassment, discrimination, bullying, or violent behaviour. Should a participant demonstrate serious behavioural issues that persist after intervention and counselling, AFTEC reserves the right to cancel the participant’s course eligibility without irefund.
  11. AFTEC retains sole and absolute discretion in all matters relating to these terms and conditions. AFTEC reserves the right to modify or update these terms at any time without prior notice to participants or their parents/guardians.
