How we do what we do

At the heart of our pedagogy is a process that empowers young people to grow, learn, and bloom through reflection, authentic experiences, and personal transformation.
This approach is shared by experienced educators, researchers, and practitioners and is unique in its collaborative nature—training teachers and artists together under a shared creative learning model.
Our Approach: Theory of Change
Building Self-Awareness
By encouraging young people to regularly reflect and ask meaningful questions, they develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationships with others.
Engaging Authentically
We create opportunities for young people to engage in genuine cognitive and social experiences, moving beyond simply going through the motions.
Problem-Finding & Perspective-Taking
Our approach emphasises the skill of identifying problems before jumping to solutions. Young people learn to view challenges from multiple perspectives rather than rushing toward instant results.
Redefining Success & Taking Risks
Over time, young people redefine what success and failure mean to them. This reduces their fear of taking risks and fosters greater motivation to explore, experiment, and grow.
Strengthening Commitment & Perseverance
As confidence and resilience build, young people develop a stronger sense of direction, commitment, and perseverance, leading to personal transformation.
This progression allows us to cultivate individuals who are introspective, adaptable, and ready to take on challenges with clarity and purpose.
The AFTEC tangram
We use a Chinese tangram to demonstrate how the same seven shapes can create endless unique outcomes. In the hands of 100 people, the results will be both similar and different—and that’s the essence of creativity.
