Classics for Juniors

Setting the stage for language learning

King Arthur (2016)

Treasure Island (2014)

Designed especially for primary and junior secondary school students, Classics for Juniors brought English theatre to life through dynamic, interactive performances and classroom-based workshops.

Starting in 2014, this comprehensive programme combined drama with language learning, creating joyful and effective learning experiences in professional theatre settings. Each year featured a newly produced play performed by a professional cast, supported by tailored education packs, pre-show workshops, and in-school drama sessions through the Creative Box series. Families were also able to join the fun through inclusive public performances.

To champion access and understanding through performance, AFTEC pioneered Relaxed Theatre—a sensory-considerate experience for individuals with autism and learning differences.
