FLOW with AFTEC @ Shalowan Arts Family Fun

Call for Volunteers for Amazing Outdoor Art Adventures

VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION

Deadline: 27 September 2019 (Friday)

Organised by The Absolutely Fabulous Theatre Connection (AFTEC), Flow with AFTEC is a festival on the theme of water… the source of all life, which follows from the success of 2018’s inaugural festival on Flight. This year’s multidisciplinary outdoor adventure includes interactive promenade theatre; inspiring music performance that expresses water & Taoism, stunning & gigantic installations enabling imaginative encounter with the mythical Dragon King, contemporary water cave & witnessing Shalowan’s silent flow from nature to urbanity.

Family with children can take part in fun-filled adventure with cute & quirky character; enjoy entertaining & enlightening storytelling, games & workshops. The theme of water & the state of Flow can be further explored through engaging talks & sharing by cross-disciplinary professionals & artist-educators from the globally-renowned Eden Project (UK).

This November, we would like to invite you to FLOW with AFTEC again in Shalowan Village as part of our volunteer team. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers whose role is to ensure smooth operations and to maintain a fun, positive, helpful and meaningful environment.

Recognition & Appreciation

  • FLOW volunteer T-shirt
  • Completion Certificate
  • Snacks and drinks
  • Transportation subsidy¹ (For the first 50 volunteers ONLY)
  • Volunteers who complete 2 event days or above will be given a free ticket to AFTEC’s theatre shows in late November
  • Participate in FLOW with AFTEC programme

¹ HK$100 for volunteers who complete 2-3 event days; HK$200 for volunteers who complete 4 event days or above (unavailable if corporate subsidy is provided)

Requirement

  • Proficiency in spoken Cantonese & English
  • Permanent Hong Kong resident aged 16 & above (Non-permanent HK resident will also be considered)
  • Energetic, pleasant & team players


  • With interest in arts, cultural, science or outdoor events
  • Attend briefing & training session + complete a minimum of one shift during Flow
  • Physically fit to work outdoors (Universal access is not available)
